Triston Wasik
Senior Full-Stack Engineer
Open Source Contributor | Avid Hackathon Participant | Mentor
I am a seasoned full-stack programmer with a diverse portfolio spanning government projects to dynamic startups. My passion for programming stems from its ever-evolving nature and the thrill of solving complex problems. Most recently, I successfully transformed a startup from a mere concept to a revenue-generating business in just 25 days, utilizing a technology stack that was entirely new to me. This experience underscores my adaptability and quick learning ability, key traits that I bring to every project I undertake.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I am deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of developers. I mentor aspiring and junior developers, sharing my knowledge and guiding them through their early careers. Additionally, I have a strong passion for volunteering, particularly with children. For over a decade, I have actively volunteered and led children's camps, dedicated to fostering a positive and educational environment for young minds. Through my career and volunteer work, I strive to make a meaningful impact, both in the tech industry and in my community.
Next Meters | Software Engineer
Architected, built, and maintained high-reliability software solutions supporting daily operations for Next Meter employees and external customers. Spearheaded application-wide observability by implementing Sentry, establishing real-time error tracking and proactive monitoring to accelerate root-cause analysis across production services. Overhauled the platform's access architecture by centralizing authentication into a unified Single Sign-On (SSO) system across all Municipal applications, pairing the migration with key security hardening measures to significantly improve overall system posture. On the frontend, engineered custom interactive data visualizations with D3.js and contributed to building and deploying cross-platform mobile applications using Vue.js and Capacitor. Additionally, modernized internal tools and legacy Angular web applications with sophisticated, UX-focused enhancements to streamline daily workflows and reduce operational friction.
Freelance | Software Engineer
My freelance career has involved creating custom software for various small clients. These clients range from server hosting companies to ecommerce applications and even utility tools for network engineers. Duties have included creating automation and interfaces for clients to manage and interact with servers, integrate Strapi and Square into a custom NextJS application to allow online ordering for a candle business and much more.
Keepers | Founding Engineer
My role in Keepers was to create the dynamic and robust scheduling system that schedules thousands of gig work jobs every day. All data is ingested and captured from iCal's and a wide variety of 3rd party API's. Set up an automated payment system using Stripe that pays the gig workers as they complete their jobs. I built the internal administrative dashboard that allows operational employees to easily manage and interact with data. I brought this idea to revenue within 25 days.
State of Alaska, DCCED | Analyst/Programmer Flex I-IV
I primarily worked on the Professional Licensing, Business Licensing, and Corporations systems. Tasks included rebuilding the public and internal searches used for all of Business Licensing and Corporations, refactoring legacy code to use Restful API's to facilitate a merge to the Azure Cloud, and rebuilding the DCCED internal payment system to use the Well's Fargo API's.
Renegade Hosting | Junior Systems Administrator
Worked with users to set up Linux based virtual private servers (VPS), including answering technical queries and offering hands-on support. Completed tickets and interacted with end users in a professional manner including providing technical communications to non technical users. Built custom software to facilitate server management.
Pocket Forms
A library I created for building and managing forms efficiently in Vue. It simplifies form creation and validation while maintaining flexibility and scalability. Forms are created with a useForm composable and Zod schemas.
Pocket Service
A backend service wrapper written in TypeScript that eliminates significant boilerplate for building and managing backend services. It's built using the builder pattern for easy, modular, service construction.

Picker Wheel
A simple multiplayer picker wheel app that allows users to create and customize their own picker wheels. This offers QR code or link sharing for easy access to the wheel.
Application Tracker
A small project I created that tracks my job hunting journey. It includes some basic data visualizations.
